Dynamic Spines (strength and stability program)
Southside Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre have aligned ourselves with the latest scientific rehabilitation research from around the world to develop a cutting edge exercise program that will maximise core strength and your ability to stay pain free and enjoy life to the full.
The program commences with four one-on-one physiotherapy sessions to deal with your individual needs. The sessions cover:
- Biomechanical and Postural Assessment
- Instructing correct activation of core muscles
- Individually prescribed strengthening and mobility exercises incorporating specific equipment
You will then progress into a small group, with a specific exercise program instructed by a physiotherapist. These sessions address core stability and spinal muscle control, progressing into exercises that cross over into everyday life. The program involves weekly one hour classes over an eight week period, with a specific home exercise program to be completed on two separate days each week.
Once you have completed the Level 1 Dynamic Spines class, you have the option to participate in our Level 2 class. This class is based on the same principles as Level 1, however the exercises are more advanced, allowing you to consolidate and improve on what you have learned in the Level 1 class.
Who will it help?
Anyone who has back pain, poor posture or poor core control.
We know that the lumbar stabilising muscles show reduced activity after only one episode of back pain and lead to accelerated degenerative changes.
Whether this is your first episode of back pain, or you have recurrent episodes, this program is for you.
What are the benefits of completing the Dynamic Spines Program?
- Reduce recurrence of lower back pain
- Move with confidence
- Learn good postural habits
- Increase your core strength with specific exercise training
- Get back to your active lifestyle
