Physiotherapist assessing ankle

Sport is Australia’s favourite pastime, and the Sutherland Shire has some of the highest sport participation rates in the country. Unfortunately, sports injuries inevitably happen; about a quarter of outdoor team sport participants will sustain an injury in any one season.

Southside Physiotherapy’s physiotherapists are highly trained in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of sporting injuries. Francis Crossle is a titled APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist, having undergone a rigorous training process of academic and on-field experience.

We take a holistic approach to sports injury rehabilitation, and our philosophy is to not just help manage your pain, but to rehabilitate your injury to a high standard so that you can support your return to your sport of choice, reduce the risk of reoccurrence, and focus on performing at a high level.

We have an onsite gymnasium that is well equipped to develop a specific rehabilitation program for you, and we use a variety of biomechanical and sports-specific tests to assess your progress along the way. We have developed a specific return to running program, and a dynamic stretching program for warm ups.

What is Sports Physio and How can it help me?

Sports Physiotherapy is an area of physiotherapy which deals with injuries and issues that are related to people who play sports. Sports injuries are different to everyday injuries as the body’s joints, muscles and bones are being put under pressure.

With over 40 years of experience in sports physio, we have assisted professional and recreational athletes, sports teams – both adults and children or anyone getting back into sports.

When an injury does occur, you can feel confident in the dedicated clinical approach at Southside Physiotherapy. Our team of physiotherapists have sport-specific knowledge that is applied during your assessment to evaluate factors contributing to the injury or pain. We will detail a recommended action plan focused on managing your injury, whilst also ensuring a focus is placed on reducing the risk of this injury occurring again. This is designed to support your recovery, allowing you to work toward returning to the sports field efficiently.

We can help with:
