Working with the community
Southside Physiotherapy trains and mentors final year physiotherapy students with clinical placements in partnership with Australian Catholic University.
Southside Physiotherapy also works with Cronulla-Caringbah Junior Rugby League and Cronulla High School Rugby League Excellence Program Partnership.
Francis graduated with Distinction from Sydney University in 1990 and also holds a BA in Social Science from Mitchell College Bathurst - he has worked in private practice in Cronulla and Hurstville and has been heavily involved in community and elite sports, including appointments with national and international softball teams, and 15 years as physiotherapist for NRL teams St George Dragons, Cronulla Sharks, and Sydney Kings basketball - he has also applied his sports injury expertise to industrial settings with companies like Qantas and Toyota - now, Francis focuses on community education and mentoring the Southside team to deliver gold standard physiotherapy services.

Ned graduated with first-class honours from Australian Catholic University’s Bachelor of Physiotherapy program in 2018 and later presented his research at the Australian Physiotherapy Conference - since joining Southside, he has completed further training in sports physiotherapy, Pilates, men’s health, Parkinson’s Disease management, and vertigo - Ned has a strong interest in running injuries and is skilled in assessing and retraining running technique to both treat and prevent injury - outside of work, he enjoys surfing, skiing, and running, and is actively involved in his local board-riders club, with a background in AFL and soccer.

Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University in 2022, gaining hands-on experience in paediatrics at Sydney Children’s Hospital and elite sports settings with the Cronulla Sharks and Sydney FC - he has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and sports injury management, injury prevention, and encouraging active lifestyles - Ben has pursued further training in sports physiotherapy, Pilates, and Parkinson’s Disease management - outside of work, he enjoys snowboarding, dirt biking, and playing footy, cricket, and Oztag.
Jay graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University and has gained diverse clinical experience at Sydney FC, rural hospitals in northern NSW, and in ICU and neuro-rehabilitation at Prince of Wales Hospital - he has a strong interest in sports and musculoskeletal injury management, as well as long-term rehabilitation for chronic conditions - Jay takes a personalised approach to care, focusing on each individual’s goals and lifestyle to support recovery and injury prevention - outside of work, he enjoys golf, swimming, trivia, and relaxing at the beach.
Pru holds a Bachelor in Exercise Physiology from Sydney University and a Masters in Nutrition from Deakin University - she has been a certified Pilates instructor since 2014, teaching both mat and reformer classes, and has led Strength & Conditioning sessions for Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year students - Pru is also a trained PD Warrior instructor with extensive experience supporting people with Parkinson’s Disease, and is skilled in using Real Time Ultrasound for pelvic floor and core assessment - she works with a broad range of health conditions and injuries, and outside of work, she enjoys dancing and spending time with her children and family.
